His difficulties developed largely out of a very vicious blackmail and extortion situation. He had become very friendly with some one who was always in debt and in danger of losing his job as a result of garnishment of his wages. So under threats of exposure to my friend's employer (the Government), this fellow wrings about a thousand dollars from my friend to pay creditors, and has repaid none of it to my friend. The last time he asked for more money, it was refused, whereupon he exposed my friend so that he lost his job. All of which goes to show the possibilities inherent in blackmail it can happen in Jealousy cases where there have been strong ties and mutual understandings.
